On Tuesday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the National Kala Utsav 2022- 2023 at the Regional Institute of Education in Bhubaneswar.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is hosting the five-day Kala Utsav from January 3 to 7, an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) to promote arts in education by fostering and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the nation.
It offers the chance and a supportive setting for children with special needs to develop and display their skills, and it aids in making learning more expressive, creative, and enjoyable. Breaking numerous preconceptions will start with males and girls, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and Divyang kids all taking the stage together.
The 10 categories of traditional folk and classical art forms will be the main emphasis of the Kala Utsav 2022–2023 festival. Vocal classical, vocal traditional folk, instrumental percussive, instrumental melodic, dance classical, dance folk, visual (2-dimensional), visual (3-dimensional), indigenous toys and games, and theater are among the art forms that will be judged in the contests (solo acting).
The event will include 714 students from 36 states and union territories.
